Reconstruction

This is not the first leaf. The first was burned in transit when a Sith struck the temple road. What follows is the sealed copy. Each line opens with the next breath of the Canticle of the Margin. If the song is whole at the end, the teaching is whole. If the song fails, the copy is broken — do not trust the crystal-work within.

Craft note

The Jedi attune to the crystal. The Sith make the crystal attune to them. They bleed it. To heal a broken kyber: do not dominate. Offer life as return, not as fuel. The crystal chooses the light it will hold. If you force the color, you have already bled it. Sister chronicles listed other lost techniques; this copy keeps the kyber path. It will not invent a life from a name.

The living wound

Reconstruction

Healing is knowing of the light — how it walks toward a life, and how it abides within. Not a well. A Sith may learn it. A Jedi does not learn the dark. Incomplete knowing spends a life. Whole knowing does not.

Seven from crystal to path

Reconstruction

Hands numbered five: crystal, well, house, lens, mouth. Wiring they called the rest. This leaf keeps seven, because a vow is not wiring, and a path is not a part. One piece on each page. What it is for the current. How to seat it is a store. We emptied that store. If you came to assemble, close the book.

The crystal is not a fuel. It is a living guest. Color is what the guest will hold, not what the hand paints. Force the color and you have already made a door. The five begin here because without a guest there is no house worth keeping.

Reconstruction

Hands called this a cell. This leaf calls it a well. It feeds the guest. It does not own the guest. A well that draws from the living to keep the path lit is already Sith-work, whatever color the blade wears.

Reconstruction

The casing is a house, not a cage. Wood, metal, bone — the material is a later fashion. What it must not do is lock the guest so only the hand may speak. A house that cannot be left is a keep. Cross-read the three fittings.

Reconstruction

The focusing lens is not a trick of brightness. It is discernment made metal. What is let through, what is not. A path without a lens is a flood. A lens without a guest is a vacant eye. Do not polish it to own the current. Polish it to see.

Reconstruction

The emitter is a mouth. Light goes out. It is not a barrel. Invert the mouth as a store of how, and the house has already told you the cost. This leaf will not invert it. Giving is the fifth of the numbered five. After this, the house stopped counting. We did not.

VI · the vow

Reconstruction

Hands called this a switch. Wiring. This leaf calls it a vow. The path kindles because a living one has chosen, not because a finger found a catch. Kindle without a vow and you have a door that opens for whoever is fastest. The sixth is why a Padawan is not given a house of the blade on the first day.

VII · the path

Reconstruction

The blade is the current made visible. It is not the crystal. It is not the well. It is not the house. A later age will love the color and forget the guest. Stay until the still column is only a path, and the path is only a vow kept long enough to shine. Then put it down. A path that cannot be put down is already a door. The next leaf is what remains when the house is across a lane.

When the house is far

Reconstruction

Temple Brus-bu ends at VII. This leaf is not of that house. A Guardian of the Whills bound it when Tesn was cut. Their faith keeps the current without a saber school. Jedha does not kindle a column for the street. Incoming light is walked. The knife they cut with is Mortis-speech — Father, Daughter, Son.

You do not catch it. You attune so it is already in the current, as one seated, not as a keep is locked. Grab it and the hand is a door. Midut keeps the living vessel. This leaf keeps the incoming that is not a mind.

The household still speaks on a far world. A learner may sit years of exile there, crystal gone, and still hear Tesn from the ground. The statues keep the mouth. The walk is the grammar. Some books find the feet after. This one found the land first.
