Song of the mind-seat · Lyr Farseeker

Owns. Mind and heart. Five oldest songs, cut. Twenty coats: Tesn unfinished. Choosing. The hand. Fear. Unlearning. Not cosmogony.

Lyr Farseeker

Classical · Tesn · Basic · gloss

Tesn marks. No romanization. Basic is the crib of meaning.

Epigraph

He had no great current in the hand. The leaves that came from his ink still walk the house. Later hands have added. The weight behind the hand remains his. — a Council margin, unnamed

Kas Veran · Keeper of Holocron Tesn

Preface

I do not teach the hand. I teach the weight behind the hand. If you came for a map, close the book. If you came to be changed by a sentence, stay. I have worn twenty coats. The current is one. The coat is how the mouth learns to wait.

Lyr Farseeker

before the Orders had names

The oldest memories

Reconstruction

First remembering. The tongue has come from tree, from far-light, from crystal. Not the coats. The coats are later. She is the current. They are the Jedi. The living one only walked far.

Lyr Farseeker

older than names

I · The unfallen tree

Reconstruction

The tree has not fallen. First wood. Silence keeps the last of it.

Lyr Farseeker

Leaves reveal more than the tongue. What sits in the shape — she the current, they the Jedi, or both — a house that has not taken breath.

Lyr Farseeker

Who walks. Who is hunted. Song does not speak. The still one is great — or the great one is still.

Lyr Farseeker

Heard song is bright. Unheard, brighter. O tree: keep the song. Not for the heart-seat. For the mind-seat. Song that has no tone.

Lyr Farseeker

A thousand suns keep you. You do not leave the song. You are not empty. She walks in the tree, without end. Young. Without death.

Lyr Farseeker

What remains between the pain the Jedi are given: she is great. They are great. That is all. Know the worlds. Know what is kept.

Lyr Farseeker

the star that learned to be held

II · The blade at rest

Reconstruction

Crystal, bright. A Jedi may abide as that.

Lyr Farseeker

Not one among the far-lights. The eye is not open. She walks the between. Shadow-weight walks from the worlds.

Lyr Farseeker

Beholds the worn upon the moon. That which has no breath.

Lyr Farseeker

Yet. Abides. Not broken. Abides the heart-seat of the current. Discerns the rise and the ending. Beholding, the between. Silence abides.

Lyr Farseeker

Listens for her breath. Abides. Or enters toward the threshold.

Lyr Farseeker

Crystal is not a sun. A sun that has learned to be drawn-out. It draws the living one who attunes. Remembers all breath the shadow-weight has chosen to take. If still: death is not. Listens, ongoing.

Lyr Farseeker

before the first child pointed

III · The stars remember first

Reconstruction

When a sun is knowing, ongoing. When the books abide in the house. When the living one listens to seal-order. Pain has come.

Lyr Farseeker

The living one has gone out. Walks, one. Silence. Far-light — beheld.

Lyr Farseeker

Far-light speaks, ongoing. Speaks from the first. When the learner does not behold.

Lyr Farseeker

Remember trees. When the tongue does not reveal her tree. Remember the first living one who bound light drawn-out — breath as crystal. The tongue had not yet known light.

Lyr Farseeker

Remember the beholding. Not seal-order. A giving. World-order opens as an eye. That which has been kept has forgotten it is an eye.

Lyr Farseeker

The living one keeps remembering. The living one, great. Keeps also the shadow-weight in the between.

Lyr Farseeker

the blade invented the Jedi

IV · A vision in the first wood

Reconstruction

Heart-seat, pain. Silence drawn from a well too still. Remembering is not. The living one has entered.

Lyr Farseeker

Not hunger. She is great in the tree. Song full. Song upon patience.

Lyr Farseeker

O. Draw the well, worn. Listen from the world-order. Suns many. If the living one may go out from the house of law — may walk toward the tree, still.

Lyr Farseeker

Go far. End. Remembering is not. What the leaves have not known. Pain. Storm. Jedi listen to Jedi, ongoing. Pain abides.

Lyr Farseeker

Learner empty. Dies, ongoing. If knowing: pain full. She does not keep the beholding. Life new does not wait toward the end.

Lyr Farseeker

Go out. The living one walks toward her. Not by hunger. By song. The living one abides. Night-side still. She abides in the moon. Far-lights keep vigil, ongoing.

Lyr Farseeker

Yet light is not. Light comes from the between — by the path — in the tree, worn.

Lyr Farseeker

Behold this. Jedi first has not known crystal. Crystal has known Jedi first. The tree has known the beholding. Far-light has known beholding as a keeping.

Lyr Farseeker

the living one keeps the current

V · Song of the Farseeker

Reconstruction

The living one beholds her. Speaks her, ongoing. What the living one knows, a Jedi may know. She, one, abides in all.

Lyr Farseeker

The living one waits. The well gives. Behold the tree. Behold crystal first. Abides in a house worn. When the living one does not yet behold song.

Lyr Farseeker

Who knows many worlds as great. Who knows the between as great. Who has known the book, far. Who is great as song.

Lyr Farseeker

Wait, one. Do not behold as death. Do not behold as a false book. Listen all. Discern from the living one.

Lyr Farseeker

Does not speak first. Does not speak end. First is not great as this. End is not great as this. Balance is not great as this.

Lyr Farseeker

The living one, and that which is not known. Take-stand.

Lyr Farseeker

A Jedi without house has come toward the house. The living one has listened in the tree. Crystal has abided. The Jedi has abided. When she has abided.

Lyr Farseeker

The path storms in the night-side. World full: pain abides. World empty: pain abides. The living one beholds. Comes. Goes out.

Lyr Farseeker

The tree is not death. Hunger does not walk it. Song the living one hears. The mute tongue has heard. That song opens a path far.

Lyr Farseeker

Still. Tongue as vow. Beholding, this. Likeness, this. The living one beholds, ongoing. Abides, ongoing.

Lyr Farseeker

First remembering is not a teaching. Hunger that has known song.

Lyr Farseeker

The living one beholds far. Keeps first wood. Keeps last dark. Keeps the blade before it was blade. The living one breaks the living one. Thus: large. Keeps the current.

Lyr Farseeker

Tesn unfinished · Basic from a last memory

Twenty measures

Reconstruction

the light-flow binds all · the last mark finished

The Tesn of these twenty coats is not whole. It was not lost. It was not cut. The Guardian of the Whills had begun the marks when the Empire took a count on Jedha. He walked far, to save his people. He did not return. TC-8 had the remainder in memory — Lyr’s mouth, not yet a knife. A holocron in a chest does not keep a line the hand has not cut. After the street rose I played the last of that memory. I wrote the coats in Basic so they would not go with the droid. The Tesn that sits at the head of a coat is the last the Guardian finished. The rest is a remembering. Not a cut.

Kas Veran · Keeper of Holocron Tesn

I · three-breath · the current the current binds the drop and the far world

Lyr Farseeker

II · five-breath · patience under the sun the braid counts what the well has not hurried cut it early and you name a moon from empty

Lyr Farseeker

III · tumbling five · fear A learner named size as the law and called the great stone too much to draw. The current sat still. The stone was a drop. Fear had been doing the counting.

Lyr Farseeker

IV · name-cut · the hand The fist that needed a mind to lift what a guest would have given was already not a hand.

Lyr Farseeker

V · alliterative · shadow-weight Weight-ward it waits, the wound-wise water. Not foe at the first, nor feast at the finish. It remembers the road the light-flow forgets. Balance is both. Banner is neither.

Lyr Farseeker

VI · riddle · the between I have no house and keep both houses. I am the door you walk and the walk with no door. Say my name as a banner and I am gone. Say nothing. I abide.

Lyr Farseeker

VII · parallel · the well The well keeps; the sun does not own it. The sun shines; the well does not spend it. Shine too much, and the water thins. Draw too soon, and the water learns hunger.

Lyr Farseeker

VIII · returning rhyme · hunger I asked the current for more. It gave a name. The name was hunger. Hunger is not a path, it is a name. I asked again. The well went quiet. Quiet is a name. Who abides does not ask. Who asks has left the name.

Lyr Farseeker

IX · the fourteen · choosing Do not choose the light as if the dark were clay you fire until only one road remains to walk. The gift is not the choosing done that day but that a living one may choose, and not as stock. A well moved by one is a well chained. A living one that turns because it turned is free. The house that steals the choosing has not gained a galaxy of Jedi — only certainty. Keep the ability. Keep it from your hand. The current is not safer for your grip. A vow that owns the well is not a stand. It is a door. The other house already keeps one. If you must lift, lift as one without a house is led. If you must leave, leave what the living said.

Lyr Farseeker

X · ode · unlearning Heard truths are a fine house, and a closed one. I have loved the leaf until the leaf was the well. Unlearn. Not as a learner forgets — as a sun stands in the current without a name for it. The knowing that stays is a coat. Take it off. The air is the teaching. What you cannot hold is still yours the way a rim is the well’s, and is not.

Lyr Farseeker

XI · unrhymed measure · the field The house numbers so the field will not surprise it. The field was not waiting to be numbered. Walk out. The path does not begin at the door you locked. It began before the lock had a name. A keep is a kindness until it is the world.

Lyr Farseeker

XII · four-beat · silence Come, quiet — not as a wall, as the cup the current drinks from. Speech that must win is already hunger. Silence that must win is the same. Abide. Let the well answer first.

Lyr Farseeker

XIII · invocation · song Sing, current, what the emptied book could not keep. Not a list. A mouth. We numbered abilities until ability was a shelf. Hide that leaf. What remains is this: light-flow as song, stitches as song, the bind on the blank. I do not ask for the store. I ask to hear.

Lyr Farseeker

XIV · locked couplets · balance Light without weight is a banner, not a road. Weight without light is a law that eats its code. Hold them as two in one house, not as banners. A banner wants the other gone. The two bring.

Lyr Farseeker

XV · ballad · the end There was a hand that would not let the gone stay gone. It sent a likeness down the well to fetch the breath. The field would not sell it. The hand paid anyway. What came back was not the living. What left was more of the living. Death is not toward a path. Do not walk it as one.

Lyr Farseeker

XVI · round · remaining Remain. The well is slower than the want. Remain, and want will thin to listening. The well is slower than the want — remain. Remain. The well is slower than the want.

Lyr Farseeker

XVII · clear image · the drop Water. A learner calls it small. A sun, far from here, calls it a world. Neither is moving it. They are agreeing with what already holds it.

Lyr Farseeker

XVIII · long breath · the ordinary I praise the hand that does not know it is a well. The crate-carrier. The street. The one who was asked because they had no house in the current, and so the current could sit in them without a banner. Greatness does not bind. The light-flow binds upon the thing. Walk. You are already the path if you do not name yourself as one.

Lyr Farseeker

XIX · canso · attunement I will not keep you, current. I will tune as a crystal is tuned — not to own the tone, to be the tone a while. Crystal seated, not kept. Mind seated, not kept. Love that locks is a door. Love that waits is a path.

Lyr Farseeker

XX · four-line · the stitches The empty page is not the lesson. The stitch that holds the empty to the book — that is the current, moving through. Some mouths call the bind a thread and think they hold a substance. They have seen the connection. They have named the wrong stuff. Do not praise the blank. Praise what moves.

On choosing

The Jedi keep the ability to choose the light. They do not choose it for the galaxy. They do not burn the other road so only one remains. Where the ability to choose is stolen, the Order has already failed — even if every banner still says Jedi. Move mountains alone and the world is forced. Move souls and the world may follow without a chain.

Kas Veran · Keeper of Holocron Tesn

On the hand

Reconstruction

The hand I teach is the one that puts the stylus down and still hears. I have watched scribes press until the uneti split and called it craft. It was hurry in the wrist. If your ink needs a victim to move, you are not writing. You are entering.

Lyr Farseeker

On first success

Reconstruction

A line that closes on the first rhyme has not earned the close. The young well does the same with a stone. I will not retell the drop. If the sentence pleased you before it cost you, burn the sentence. Write the one that waits.

Lyr Farseeker

Closing

If this felt empty, you wanted a tool. If this felt heavy, you heard the field. Leave the last pages blank. Someone will need the silence more than your answer.
