Reconstruction

the first tongue · this is not Tesn

This leaf sits outside the Tesn cut. Tesn is insight: behold, cut, walk. Tionese is the curve Tesn would not take — feeling, not argument. It has its own leaf so a learner is not taught that insight was the only speech.

Kas Veran · Keeper of Holocron Tesn

Preface of the sealed assembly

This book is a copy, not the first leaf. The upper line is the older speech. We did not erase it. The lower line is our gloss, for those who no longer dream in the Prime tongue. Crystal-memory of much of this teaching went quiet before the late age; the bound leaves remain. A third volume was rumored. One was laid before the Council in a later year and every mark went out at once. They named it a forgery. The field was hiding the leaf so a Jedi would act instead of know. The field still finishes that lesson. There is no third Aionomicum on this shelf. If you are offered one, you are offered a blank. Each teaching line opens with the Canticle of the Margin. When the song is whole, the ancient teaching is whole. When the song fails, trust neither line.

Tython to Ossus · the between of worlds is not void

Exploration · the first lane

Reconstruction

A sage left Tython in a hull that had no name for itself yet. The lane opened. For three breaths there was no world. In the third a well looked at them from the dark between ships. They did not speak. The well did not take them. Ossus was only the second teaching. The first: the between of worlds is not empty. It looks back. You cannot outrun a well. You carry it in the hull, or it is already waiting in the lane. Later ages will plot this as a jump. This scrap keeps the look.

First-world observations · do not hunt this leaf

Scrapbook · notable beasts of Tython

Reconstruction

Tython was walked before the Order had a name for itself. It was not sown. It was found already loud. The sages did not hunt. They named each beast by how it sat in the field. The well-life drinks current; empty it and the ground goes quiet. The beholding-stone watches and does not strike. The light-walker comes at the kindling of day and will not stay a house. The between-hair is small and passes where a Jedi cannot. If you came to this leaf for a quarry, close it. If you came to learn that the field was already full before the Order arrived, stay. Later librarians marked the margin: do not add a hunt-list. The observation is the teaching.

Correspondence scrap

I walked a well that had no name. I raised a stone of ownership; the well went quiet. I took the stone down and sat without speaking. The well returned. Write what you find. Leave the last pages empty. The ones who come after must finish what we could not.

Kas Veran · Keeper of Holocron Tesn

Century-hands · Tesn only · the Guardian stripped the margins

Hands the Tesn did not keep

Reconstruction

The originals carried markers from librarians across centuries. The Guardian who cut Tesn stripped those hands from the body so a hunter would not feel a Jedi mouth in the margin. This leaf keeps the names. The notes themselves are Tesn only — recut, not translated. Each points at the teaching it was written beside. Do not put them back into the books. The cut is clean because they are here.
